Ending Corporate Influence on Elections Act of 2023
This bill prohibits political contributions or donations by publicly traded corporations.
Specifically, the bill makes it unlawful for a publicly traded corporation to make (1) a contribution or donation of money or other thing of value, or to make an express or implied promise to make a contribution or donation, in connection with a federal election; (2) a contribution or donation to a political committee that accepts donations or contributions that do not comply with the contribution limits or source prohibitions under the Federal Election Campaign Act; or (3) an expenditure, independent expenditure, or disbursement for an electioneering communication.
The bill also makes it unlawful for a person to solicit, accept, or receive a contribution or donation from a publicly traded corporation.
